ACBTA Meet the Expert Talk by Prof Kyong-Mee Chung
Prof Kyong-Mee Chung from Yonsei University, Korea will be speaking on "An RCT for testing effectiveness of an app-based cognitive rehab program for youths with neurodevelopmental disorders."

Speaker Profile
Dr. Kyong-Mee Chung is a Professor of Psychology at the Department of Psychology, Yonsei University. She has specific training and expertise in assessing and treating persons with autism and developmental disabilities (DD) following the principles of applied behavior analysis.

As PI or co-Investigator on several university- and National funded grants in Korea, she conducted several treatment outcome studies for improving the social, emotional, cognitive and behavioral functioning of youths with autism, and developmental disabilities (DD). Some of these studies focused on developing and evaluating the effectiveness of a training program for caregivers including parents, teachers and therapists of this population.

For the past 10 years, her work has been focused on the development and dissemination of technology-based treatment and training programs using mobile devices, VR and AR through collaboration with computer scientists, engineers, and HCI experts. Aside from the academic papers, she and her collegues published several applications (e.g., Yface, Ycog, YESS, HARU, Mind Booster, etc.) and e-books (e.g., Let’s play with vegetables, I can do it by myself) in the Android store in both Korean and English, which were proven to be effective for people with diverse mental disorders. The lab is continuously working on updating the released contents.

Dr. Chung is the co-chair of the 10th World Congress of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, 1-4 June 2023, Seoul, Korea.
